Imagine Autumn Turning into Spring

Sometimes spring arrives when we have already learned to live with autumn

Imagine Autumn Turning to Spring

The colours of autumn blaze into life
You still have time
To see and feel the last warmth of summer
Even as the body is wrapped
In thicker and thicker layers

Every shade of colour is at play
Behind my façade as well
The sweetest music begins
When he steps through the door
And lets me embrace the universe

The heat of summer has given way
To autumn’s tempered mediocrity
Yet inside me a fire is burning now
Burning and warming
Like the rays of a midsummer sun

What can autumn do
With ripeness and fallen fruit
When winter will soon arrive
And silence the cheerful song of birds
As long as we are together

Let the wind whirl
Let the leaves be torn from the trees
Let the snow fall
Concealing the world, granting it rest
We cast our light upon each other

The darkness deepens
And the longing for spring
Returns when the days are shortest
Yet something is already bubbling in my heart
And winter will not win

Imagine being allowed to see
Imagine being allowed to feel
Imagine being allowed to love
Imagine that life goes on
Imagine autumn turning into spring
Imagine you coming into my life
Imagine the future in bloom
