I’M LAZY
Or is it procrastination?
**
You all know I was fat
And a diet was needed.
While I enjoyed what I cooked,
I watched and I heeded.
Here I am years later,
Thin, no longer a pig -
But my clothes, now fall off;
They’re just too damn big!
I need to go shopping,
But trying on clothes?
I hate taking that time
Since I like none of those.
They’ll look good on the rack
But rarely on me.
I really hate shopping!
I’m so lazy, don’t you see!
So, I sit in my “fat” clothes,
As meek as a mouse,
Until my friend shows up
To drag me out of the house.
“Let’s go!” she’ll say
Sporting a grin.
These old clothes won’t do;
You’ve gotten so thin.
“We’ll find some slacks,
Plus a shirt or two.
You’re wearing your flip-flops?
They’ll never do!”
So, here we are back
From the old shopping mall,
Where I drag in the bags –
Will I really wear it all?
I still hate to shop;
I’ve better things to do.
But I have to admit it:
I really like my new shoes.
