I Will Survive You
You thought your leaving would destroy me
That I would break beneath the loss
That every breath without your presence
Would feel like carrying a cross
For a while you almost won
I drowned myself inside despair
Sat awake through endless mornings
Still believing you were there
I begged heaven for your return
Cried till my chest could barely rise
Loved somebody who walked away
Without remorse inside their eyes
Then slowly something changed in me
The mirror showed a different face
A woman tired of chasing ghosts
A soul deserving better space
I started healing piece by piece
Learning how to stand alone
Finding strength beneath the damage
Turning pain into my own
Now your memory fades quieter
Like smoke dissolving in the air
You no longer hold the power
To keep me trapped inside despair
One day someone will love me fully
Without the games that tore me down
Without the lies hidden beneath
Every promise and every sound
You were not the end of me
Only a lesson carved through scars
I will survive you completely
And still reach for brighter stars
