I watched him break my heart into pieces

My heart, once whole, now torn apart.

By Mahlatse MaphakePublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

I watched him break my heart into pieces,

With every word, my pain increases.

A love once bright, now fades away,

In the shadows of the things he'd say.

His promises turned into lies,

Beneath the mask, a cruel disguise.

Each smile, a dagger in disguise,

Every touch, a bitter surprise.

I gave my all, I stood by strong,

Yet in his eyes, I did no right.

But slowly, cracks began to show,

In the love I thought I'd always known.

I watched him walk away, so cold,

Leaving memories, stories untold.

My heart, once whole, now torn apart,

A testament to a love's false start.

But from the ashes, I'll arise,

With strength renewed, I'll touch the skies.

For hearts can mend, and time can heal,

And once again, I'll learn to feel.

In pieces now, but not for long,

I'll find my way, I'll sing my song.

For love that's true will find its place,

In a heart that beats with endless grace.
