I see your life and I want it,

Or at least it feels like I do,

But the closer I look, the more I wonder,

If those thoughts hold any truth,

I think I want your life,

Because I want someone to come home to,

Someone to bicker over simple tasks,

Someone to be my other half,

Sometimes I look at you and wonder how you got so lucky,

To find someone who accepts you,

When all I can see all your flaws,

But yet they love you without cause,

I wonder how did you make it to the I do's,

With all that is wrong with you,

I know that's not right of me to say,

but at the end of the day,

I am lonely, and you are not,

I live a life with intention,

Yet you found the storybook plot,

I want to say it isn't fair,

But, who cares,

You are happy,

And well,l I am,

Something,

But without someone,

Maybe I just want it because it is out of reach,

Maybe I want it because it's all I see,

Maybe it is the thought,

Maybe it's the pointing out what I am not,

Maybe it is because I want it,

But settling feels like a sacrifice,

Yet the desire comes from not having anyone in my bed at night,

I want your life,

Well, not exactly yours,

But one my own,

A home,

Where I am accepted and known.
