I want You to know
Some inspiring words for everyone, including You!
I want You to know
Yes, You
When You struggle
and it all feels
way too much
for anyone to take
When the pressure
exceeds that which
You signed up for
*
I see You
I know
*
I want You to know
Yes, You
Wondering what today
will bring to You
Wondering if good
will show its face
or if bad will continue
to block out the sunlight
through Your windows
*
I see You
I know
*
I want You to know
Yes, You
Grieving for a loss
that can't be filled
scared of getting hurt
by people
You are taught
to trust and love
unconditionally
*
I see You
I know
*
I want You to know
Yes, You
Whether your struggles
are mental, physical
health or money-related
or about everything
Whether You struggle
to stop slamming Your head
into a brick wall
taking those pills
jumping off the nearest
rooftop, bridge or cliff
or prising open the coffin
and taking the longest
most restful sleep
*
I see You
I know
*
I want You to know
Yes, You
Who tries so hard
to be the best version
the best iteration
of Yourself
despite all the world
and many of its inhabitants
throw in Your direction
causing devestation
When the fires won't stop
causing destruction
misery and woe
as the smoke
surrounds You
*
I see You
I know
*
I want You to know
Yes, You
each day
You get through it all
and see another sunrise
afternoon or evening
there are others
just like You
suffering in silence
screaming at a world
that just
doesn't want to listen
*
we see You
we know
*
don't let go

Author's Notes: Sometimes when I post things I feel really brave and want to explain what I was aiming for or whatever. Other times I want to just click submit and hide.
With this one, I feel it's important it has accompanying notes. I am aware that I write these kinds of poems often, so I am sorry if it sounds like a broken record.
But based on things going on in my own world, family, the world (Hawaii and so many other places) and things people have said in the comments section of other pieces, about my own struggles, themselves or people they know, I felt it was important to try and put this message out.
Mumble over. I hope this is recieved in the way it was intended.
Also, it may not be to everyone's taste, but rather than get too soppy, I love this song by Faith No More because it basically has a positive message, despite sounding aggressive, "What a day when you can look it in the face and hold your vomit"
