i, the cat, have not been killed.

curiosity kills the cat.
well, inform me of Death's arrival
if they'll ever dare to come find me.
i may have nine more than you fools
but we share the wonder of the universe
plus,
we rely on each other.
as you hum to yourself, reading peacefully in your bed of cushions,
you are pleading for me to join you
stealing the sunshine too greedily
for long enough to rest
until your anxiously dancing heart
begins to match the beat of our united twinkling eyes.
and if it won't kill you,
the thing who appears to love
but can never take a hint
and must wait until my perfectly pointed nails
shatter
before you scamper away,
ooooh so dominant.
so assertive
i tremble before the giants too vulnerable to face my harmless little cousins...
okay,
little...doesn't really sum them up
but still.
although you remind the world of
Death;s inevitable melody...
i will remain untouched.
And well fed.
Meow.
