I Should’ve

Should’ve

By Sender Jeannestal Published 2 months ago 1 min read

I kissed the sun the goodbye

Here comes the moon with apologies

I’m on the highway far from your kindness

I wish my heart was as strong as the pavement

I stayed up late reading old text messages

How did we end up so far away?

It’s been a few years now and I grew a pair

Come see me not for lust but for closure

There’s a few stains on my shirt

A few elephants in the room

Transparency, I want you to see me clearly

I’m guilty for letting pride seal my heart

I didn’t tell you that I’m weak without you

I didn’t tell you that I can’t move on without you

I told you I didn’t need you

I told you that I could give a damn with or without you

Foolish is the one who can’t see his own flaws

But love is content anyway

I should’ve told you that you mattered

I should’ve told you that I cared
