I see you

Across the room

I see you

Under lashes peering through, I see you.

Loud, your smile wavers my strength to stand.

I am weak in ways I didn't think possible.

Captivated by how you captivate the room.

Driven by the light in your eyes.

Boy, do I see you.

I see you, dressing in the morning for work.

I see you, holding our child and being drunk on their life.

I see you, supporting me, supporting them, in the strength of those arms.

I see you, holding my hand on a porch swing, in the spring watching grand-babies play in the sun.

Oh boy do I see you.

Washed by waves of lust I push forward.

Blushed to the edge of my cheek bones, and quickened breath.

I wait for you to see me.

And you do... see me.
