I Search, Never Found

In the journey that's love, you don't always find what you're looking for.

I.

I searched the world

for a thing called love

But the path wasn’t beauty

and the rewards to be reaped

weren’t worthy.

II.

So I chased a view

and a spirit.

But she eluded me.

Whether she was the one

Whether she was the girl

It never worked out

the way it should.

III.

So now,

I’m here.

IV.

A woman at my side.

But not the one I chased.

That one is long gone

with the man she wants.

V.

A woman at my side.

Does she fit the bill?

I can’t tell.

Will I ever be

able to tell?
