I'm Tired...
Commentary on objectification and double standards
to never be
a human
in someone's eyes...
to feel like
a thing
meant to be used
and played with...
to feel like
you are all you physically
want to be,
but then someone else
comes along
and ruins the happiness that gives you...
grabbing at you...
catcalling you...
asking for nothing more than sex–
not even a normal human conversation...
not allowing you to live your fucking life
the way you want to...
judging you when you do things your way
instead of the way predetermined for you...
I am a woman.
I am a human being.
I am your neighbor
–isn't one supposed to love thy neighbor?
–isn't one supposed to respect thy neighbor?
Weren't we taught to treat one another as we'd like to be treated?
More importantly:
Why don't we fucking act like it?
I'm tired of this hypocrisy
I'm tired of these double standards.
I'm tired...
We all are...
