I'm Fine

It’s quiet here, and I don’t mind

no need to talk, no need to find

a seat at every table set.

I’ve got my peace, no room for regret.

I’m not a puzzle missing a piece,

not waiting for the noise to cease.

I hear the world, I just don’t chase

the kind of love that needs a face.

Some nights are heavy, sure, I’ll say

but light still slips in anyway.

The walls don’t echo like they used to;

I fill them now with things I choose to.

I sleep alone, but sleep runs deep,

no tangled hearts to lose my sleep.

And when I wake, I stretch and smile

I’ve walked alone for quite a while.

Not broken, not bitter, just quietly free.

I’m alone, yeah

That’s okay with me.
