I’m A Song

Searching For A Melody

Struggling to find where I belong

Searching for the better part of me

Scrawling words to fill my song

Broken lyrics, no one will sing

Some words that once meant something

a long, long time ago

As fragile as trying to breathe

When everything you loved, let go

Marching to another's drum

Trying to keep in step

Rhymes to conjure miracles

Some simple words creating depth

I’m a song searching for meaning

I’m a rhythm without rhyme

A chorus still repeating

Caught in a loop, just out of time

My words could tell a story

If you’d care to read the lines

I’m a song who needs a singer

With the will to sing along
