you say you love me

but I’m a mess

unapologetically, still honestly, I am a wreck

I confess

**

you say, amazing

in my black dress

but I know you’d take off running

if you were given half the chance

**

so let me stop you

save your disgrace

loyally, red, white and blue

help you to save face

**

wash clean that image

you have of me

let you get another taste

a simple sampling for free

**

await the results

tally the votes

peanut to peanut snoop around with Mr Shultz

I joke, of course

**

it’s my salvation

it’s how I cope

foolishly my demonstration

shows I’m a self appointed dope

**

so if you’re sure you want to love me

please be sure that you are sure

and then, you must love me completely

knowing quirky’s both a disguise and allure
