It may not have been love at first sight but it was love when I got to know you.
I love you because when I talk to you it’s not just small talk.
You make me want to open up all the little bits of me that make me, me.
You listen when I rant and give me good advice.
You see right through it when I say “I’m fine” because you know that when I say that, I’m not fine.
You encourage and challenge me to be better than I was yesterday.
You don’t just say what you think I might want to hear.
Your genuine and real.
You help me forget my trauma and remind me to remember the good times.
You inspire me to stand up for myself, and set healthy boundaries.
I love you because you allow me to be myself.
I love you because you are you. And I am me. And we are us.

Today’s technology makes finding love easier yet somehow so much harder than it used to be. My generation is so used to dating apps, snapchat, Facebook and even Tiktok posing new love ventured and possibilities every single day. Yet with social anxiety on the rise with the younger generation (mine included) it is more and more common for couples to not meet in person for quite some time or in some cases ever.
