Being lonely and numb is manageable,
but being lonely and emotional is nearly unbearable.
Tuck me into the protector of your shirt pocket,
no matter how nerdy you may appear.
I fear nothing,
except, just don’t leave me alone.
Drag me along the blank paper landing pad,
shading lighter, then darker, as you wish.
Your hands are strong and inspirational,
they fill my graphite with purpose and poise.
Can I always be your #1 #2 pencil?
