I Like You and I Love You

I like you and I love you—

your smile and your charm,

the way you say “I love you”

and walk with me, arm in arm.

There’s nothing better than walking

through snow and ice with you,

hand in hand and talking

about the things we want to do.

When the April sun shines bright

and we drive past tulips and trees,

I’m glad you’re in my sight

with your hand resting on my knee.

There’s no better way to cool down

when the sun is hot and high

than going to the lake near town

and eating cheese and wine.

When all the leaves fall to the ground

and the pumpkin patch is full,

all I want is you around

and large, warm scarves of wool.

Every minute spent with you

is the best use of my time—

I like you and I love you,

and I love that you are mine.
