I like being able to make people laugh when they are sad

I like being able to make people laugh when they are sad

when someone feels like the world is ending

and they may never be happy again

but you can distract them with a joke

and for a second they chuckle

and forget that their heart is breaking

you are giving them a second of happiness

a reminder that it is possible to feel good

and that means you are making them feel better

because caring is a superpower

it can heal anything

all it takes is a friend

and that's what makes me hopeful

that people are just meant to love one another

so that we could coexist
