I have seen the End

A Warning of the Consequences of Humanity's Greed and Neglect of the Planet.

By Nasir KhanPublished about a year ago 1 min read

The sky's ablaze with fire,

The ground resounds with ire,

Fear grips all who dare to look,

As destruction fills the hours like a book.

The earth burns bright with flame,

And its treasures are taken with no shame,

Leaders lie to maintain their throne,

While the poor suffer and die alone.

The sight is so scary to behold,

From the dusk until dawn,

Catastrophe leaves nothing to be found

Changes blue sky to sickly brown,

Mother Earth's agony cannot be ignored,

As humanity's greed leaves her battered and scarred,

Dwellers blind to their fatal game,

Playing with fire and causing her pain.

The day is black as night falls,

As mountains tremble and the world's torn apart,

A child wakes from a dream, to no surprise,

For I have seen the end, as if in a guise
