I Had a Dream

I had a dream that all wars were over,

the sky was clear, clouds like soft whispers.

No tanks rolled and no bombs fell,

no children hid in the shadow of fear.

Streets were full of laughter,

voices strong and bright,

hands reaching across

the lines that once divided.

The rivers ran clean, and fields were green,

the smoke of guns replaced by sunlight.

Soldiers laid down their rifles, faces softened,

and the world breathed as one.

I woke still hoping,

the memory of peace shining in my chest,

a fragile flame I carried.

God save us all. Amen.
