I Don't Want To, But I Have To

Necessary Evils

I don't want to pay taxes.

I hate dealing with customer service

And driving in traffic,

But I have to.

Some nights, I don't want to go to sleep.

The next morning, I don't want to get out of bed.

Often, I don't want to go to work,

But I have to.

I detest looking for a good parking spot,

Or going to the doctor.

I never feel like smiling when I'm feeling down,

But I have to.

I don't want to wait in line.

I don't feel like doing dishes or laundry.

I really don't like dealing with know-it-alls,

But I have to.

You may not want to hear my complaints.

But if you got this far,

You just did.

Did you have to?
