I Choose You Again

We are not strangers to endings,
we have stood at the edge of ours
more than once,
with trembling hands
and words we wished we could take back.

We know the shape of each other’s hurt,
the places where we broke,
the moments when love
was not enough to make us understand.

But distance has a strange way
of making the heart speak clearly.

And somewhere between
missing you
and learning how to live without you,
I realized…

I don't want to go back.

I want to go forward.

I want to meet you again
not as the people we were,
but as the people
we have fought to become.

I want to love you
with more patience,
with softer hands,
with the courage to stay
when things become difficult.

I want us to stop measuring our love
by everything that went wrong
and start building it
with everything we have learned.

Because I have seen your flaws

and somehow,
after all the storms,

why I am standing here again,

I forgot the pain.
