I Can’t Say Goodbye to Today

I can’t say goodbye to today,
Its light still warms my soul.
The hours slipped between my hands,
Yet somehow made me whole.

There were whispers in the morning,
Gentle laughter in the breeze.
Tiny blessings passed unnoticed,
Hidden in the trees.

The afternoon wore golden smiles,
Like memories softly sewn.
Each second left its fingerprint,
Upon a heart once lone.

Even shadows carried comfort,
Stretching gently through the land.
As evening wrapped the world in peace,
With an unseen loving hand.

I know the night must claim its turn,
The moon replace the sun.
Still part of me keeps holding on,
To everything today has done.

For every smile I almost missed,
Now shines within my mind.
The smallest joys become the ones,
We’re often slow to find.

Tomorrow waits beyond the dark,
With pages still untold.
But I will keep today’s embrace,
Like treasured drops of gold.

I can’t say goodbye to today,
Though daylight slips away.
Its kindness lives inside my heart,
Long after ends the day.
