I know you don't fish

but you'd make a really good fisherman

even I gawked at the sparkly fake bait you used

you used the perfect bait actually

your soft smile was enough to get me hooked

hooked deep

and when you pulled me from the sea

it was almost too easy for you

I was yours for the taking

So you pulled me up

coddled me tenderly, softly, sweetly

and even posed for a victory picture

but when you decided to pull out the hook

you couldn't

it was in too deep

you frowned at the sight

becuase you decided that I wasn't what you wanted

not anymore

so you snipped the line

and tossed me back

back into the cold water

with the hook

still deep in my flesh

stuck there

forever.
