I can’t remember to forget you

😢

My fear was losing you, and so, I lost you,

Like a fragile petal in the wind, brushing the ground and fading away.

In the darkness of the night, I still think of you and feel you, hoping that one day,

I can have you back in my arms.

But for now, all I have is regret, because my fear was losing you, and so, I lost you.

In the echoes of our laughter, in the whispers of our dreams,

I see the ghost of what once was, or so it seems.

We danced in the sunlight, under skies so blue,

But my fear of losing you, well, it came true.

The tears I shed can't wash away the pain,

As I walk this path alone, in the pouring rain.

I clung to my doubts, let them guide my way,

Now I'm left with the price that I must pay.

Your absence is a void, a cavern in my soul,

Where once was warmth and love, now there's a gaping hole.

I long to hear your voice, to feel your touch,

But my fear destroyed us, it hurt too much.

Yet, hope lingers like a distant star,

In the vast expanse of my heart, it's not too far.

I pray that time will heal what I've undone,

And one day, my love, we'll be as one.

For now, I carry the weight of my mistake,

In this shattered heart of mine, the ache won't break.

But I promise to learn, to grow, to renew,

For my fear was losing you, and so, I lost you.

In the tapestry of our love, a thread has come undone,

But I'll keep the memories close, like a setting sun.

With every sunrise, a chance to start anew,

Hoping one day, my love, I'll win back you.

My fear was losing you, and so, I lost you,

But in the depths of my love, my heart still beats true.

For the beauty we shared, the moments we knew,

I'll cherish forever, my love, I'll always love you.

Really enjoyed this piece. Is the title after a line of a song? It seems familiar but I couldn't quite place it
