I Believe They Wait

That is the beauty of reuniting with our loved ones

I Believe They Wait

I believe they wait somewhere,

Beyond the reach of wind and rain,

Watching over those they love,

Until they meet their own again.

The years may pass with heavy steps,

And leave their marks upon the skin,

Yet love survives each turning page,

And keeps remembered voices in.

There are nights when silence speaks,

More clearly than the loudest sound,

And I can feel a presence near,

Though no one else is gathered round.

The world explains what it can prove,

And leaves the rest for hearts to find,

Some truths arrive without a map,

And settle gently in the mind.

I think of all who’ve gone before,

The lives that shaped the roads we take,

Their lessons echo through the years,

In every choice we choose to make.

No empty void could hold such love,

No cold farewell could end it all,

The spirit leaves its earthly coat,

Responding to a greater call.

And when the day arrives for me,

I will not face that road with dread,

For faith has placed a quiet peace,

Where fear of leaving once had spread.

I believe they wait somewhere,

Not lost, not gone, not swept away,

Just living in another place,

Until we meet again one day.
