I awoke

Only to realize I was still asleep.

I awoke.

Only to realize I was still asleep.

Behind the lids that flicker while closed.

Within the networks of thoughts.

Strings of association.

Attempting to understand the world that occurs while awake .

I awoke.

Only to realize I was still asleep.

In a room whose walls bled with stars

And windows were wounded by moons-

By matter.

By light.

I awoke.

In a dream that introduced me to myself

A version that danced.

That flew

That twirled into the arms of Mother Nature

And bowed down to a god.

I awoke.

At waters edge in a secluded dream

A dream where I dipped my toes into a pond that bursted into gold

A dream where gold rings traveled to the fingertips of the universe.

I awoke.

And I heard her words.

She said to be still.

For your grandmother is here.

To move through the world with grace.

With trust.

With truth.

I awoke.

Only to realize I was asleep.

But I heard her words.

She said to awaken.

And just like that.

Without fear.

Without dispute.

Without effort.

I awoke.
