I am truly sorry!
I wasn't there when you needed me the most!
I am sorry for every time you had to worry.
I wish I was there for you, I wish that we were close.
The hardships you endured.
The times when you were at your worst.
The days you drank your pains away.
The tears that would not stop from all the times that you were hurt.
The ups and downs that you experienced throughout life.
The heartbreak you never knew would come when you began to date.
Those moments you held your breathe and braced yourself for the worst.
Those moments of self-doubt and when you were lacking of your own self worth.

Who Am I?
I keep asking myself. I spent half of my life as a single mother. Pushing myself to be the strong independent individual that I have always been. My kids have grown and my life seems turned upside down.

Final Call
She flings her arms around my neck and squeezes me like she’s never going to let me go. My head spins as her lips brush against my cheek. She must be able to feel my heart thumping in my chest. I shuffle backwards and ram my hands into my coat pockets, watching her reach down and heave the rucksack across her shoulders.
