Nourishing my soul and lifting me high
They listen and heal, persuade and provoke
A collection of loving hearts embraced
Unshackled, unbound and unconfined
Acceptance cascades, no judgement, no shame
They are the soft place to fall when guilt and fear soar
A community of trusting truth embraced
A rollercoaster of emotions designed to ignite
Pure joy and elation, enrapture and pride
Angst and anger, heartache and fear
An ecosystem of raw feelings embraced
The warmth of glowing embers, in rhythm dance before the night
Comfortable reassurance, protection and peace
Heads nestled safely within intertwined arms
A network of well-being embraced
Inspirational empowerment exudes each breath
Each word lifting, raising and guiding
Absent competition makes way for flourishing growth
A circle of admiration embraced.
Each fragment indispensable, reinforcing the web
Individualism promoted, a colourful display
Indisputable solidarity, a powerful force
An assembly of wisdom, HOME embraced

Can you believe he just left me here? Alone, resembling half of what I once was. I’m resting on a plastic chair in the far corner of a carriage in the gap between the wall and where the soft blue cushion of the seat begins. The child who left me here is long gone. I wonder if anyone will notice me and more importantly, if noticed, how will I be judged?
