I Am as He is

I know what's coming

He said, "you're too small."

Maybe I'm just enmeshed in it all.

Maybe he didn't see...

I've got a mammoth hidden

behind my Saturnine frame—

lingering in the distance,

waiting for the call to come in.

.

He said "you're too sad for me."

Maybe because I'm waist deep

in the swamp of the world's suffering.

Maybe because I'm bad at pretending

I don't feel others' pain

surrounding my own.

.

I think I'll feel complete, when

all my children are at peace.

The Earth is my womb, and

I am a mother to the new world.

I am a sister to the darkness,

I am a daughter of creation.
