Hypnotic Rhythm, and the color Teal

A Night to Remember

By Valerie GerkePublished 2 years ago 1 min read

A Friday night like any other Virginia Slims, and a Perrier

Could we please enjoy the night, and forget a crazy day

His gaze was intense, and persistent as no other before

Tired from the week-we both got up on the dance floor

Seemingly shy, and dressed in teal he glanced my way

For two total strangers there was electric one would say

Dark, smoldering looks, and a groove on the floor

It did not take long for my heart to adore

We both danced to the music they would play

We both could not turn our heads away

From each other it was something much more

A glance from a girl in teal as we walked to the floor

We stopped, and glanced one another's way

Bruce Springsteen, and the lights were here to stay

Many years later, children, and grands

We did a lot more than just hold hands

Our love grew strong, and still will bloom

It started with a mere glance across the room
