I read a prompt about hair and decided to create a number of poems based on the prompt. Over the course of one day, I thought up five different ideas. Each idea is from a different perspective. Here is the method I followed to create multiple poems from one basic idea.

1. View the topic from different perspectives. Find the right angles.

2. Write a humorous piece.

3. Create a poetic literary piece.

4. Write a science fiction piece on the idea.

5. Write a thrilling poem.

6. Create a poem based on the facts of the topic.

7. Keep coming back to the idea over the course of the day.

8. Expect new ideas to come to you during the course of the day and they will.

9. Do a bit of research on the topic and new ideas will burst forward in your mind and writings.

10. Make a lot of notes related to your idea and these will be the foundation for your writings.

Hair Today Gone Tomorrow

Where did the hair go?

There are some who have long locks,

There are some who cut it short,

There are some who wish they had hair,

That has disappeared like a March hare.

Treasure those long locks of hair,

That others admire and stare.

Take care of your lovely hair,

It requires extra love and care.

The Hair and the Personality

Does it affect a person?

Everyone likes a new hairstyle,

Like Cleopatra at the river Nile.

Some like it short, some like to long,

Some like Samson made him strong.

Some like it cut in a special way,

Some prefer it chopped off anyway.

Does the hair affect a person’s personality?

Making them feel as powerful as a tree.

The latest hairstyle is what you need,

To make that impression on someone,

To get that new job or a promotion.

The new hairstyle is a confidence booster,

To make you proud as a peacock or loud as a rooster.

Does hair affect a person’s life and personality?

Making the person feel like a celebrity.

New Hair and a New Life

Appearance makes a difference

When Sally wanted to change her life,

When she wanted to change her personality,

When she wanted to change her friends,

When she wanted better opportunities,

She simply changed the color of her hair,

She also changed the length of her hair,

Sally improved a few things in her style,

Something she had not done in a while.

Before long Sally was a different person,

Sally had a new hairstyle and a new life,

Filled with independence and no one’s wife.

Hair does make a great visible difference,

It helps to create a person’s appearance.

When Jonathan wanted to leave his old life,

His old job, his enemies and all the strife,

He decided to change his appearance,

Because his new hair made a difference.

He cut his long hair and made it short,

He knew everything that he was taught.

Just as clothes make the man,

A new style and personality were the plan.

Jonathan had decided to mend his ways,

He had mastered all the moves in card plays.

He was now moving to start a new life,

In a city far away from all the hustle,

A life free from all the crime and bustle.

But, as Jonathan soon found out,

He was eventually caught out.

Jonathan had an uncommon face,

So, he was pretty easy to track and trace.

Hair does make a great difference,

It helps to create a person’s appearance.

Let the transformation begin

From Man to Cape and Cowl

He had traveled around the world,

He had learned about the evil and the good,

He had worked with coal and mortar,

He had worked with fire and wood.

Bruce had learned from the Masters,

Bruce had learned from the Leaders.

He had dined at the table of thieves,

He had eaten rice on plantain leaves.

Bruce had dined on turkey and wine,

He had a monument built as a shrine.

His life was broken and he was torn,

There was nothing that could remain,

After his parents were brutally slain.

Bruce had returned from his travels,

He cut his long hair and left his travels behind.

It was then that he donned his cape and cowl,

As the skies turned crimson and the wolves howl.

It was his calling and his time,

To save Gotham from its dark ways,

To fight the rising crime,

While making the underworld pay.

Bruce cut his long hair and donned his cowl,

It was now his time to fight all crime,

As the Riddler and the Joker laughed,

With Penguin and as Two-Face tossed a dime.

It was his calling and his time,

To save Gotham from its dark ways,

To fight the rising crime.

Every Strand of Hair

Has a story to be told

Brown, Black, Silver and Gold,

Every strand of hair that we see,

Has a story to be told.

Everywhere that you look,

You will find and you will see,

A strand of hair sailing by,

In the air, or over the cutlery.

The chef in the kitchen,

Is in a terrible state,

Someone found a hair on a plate.

In yet another place the hair had struck,

It left the head to find its own luck.

The hair that was a silver grey,

Found its way to a cake tray.

Brown, Black, Silver and Gold,

Every strand of hair that we see,

Has a story to be told.

There is a strand of hair to be found,

On the head, in the air or on the ground.

The barbershop was filled with air,

From the table to the desk and chair.

It has been found that in hair there is DNA,

Maybe in the future a person can be created,

From a sample of another person’s hair.

Brown, Black, Silver and Gold,

Every strand of hair that we see,

Has a story to be told.

Remember to treasure your hair,

Nourish it and keep it healthy.

Take the time to cherish and care,

As long as your hair is still up there.
