violet half-moons above my cheeks;
like the veins causing bruising under my skin
these mountains of feelings
have been turning me blue,
while saffron rays
shine on a shady face
so i place
rose colored glasses
over slanted
dark brown irises
glazed over and rooted
like plush green hills
rolling through cities
burgundy wine stains
on full lips, ready for warmth
nails painted red
like the fires in my chest
burning through the wreckage
waving white flags of surrender
even so;
don't want the colors to go
filling in the gray
cutting through the dark
showing me how to paint
the blacks away
