I've Missed You So

You had left me
Now you're back
It can't be
I can't see you where you are
You can't get to me
But now I hug you
For a moment so brief
I run toward you
Knowing this is something special
This time the ephemeral nature doesn't escape me
I know you won't be here forever
But your memory lingers
Holding on to my mind
And I'm thankful it does
'Cause that's how I got to see you this time.
If only for a short one
I'm thankful you stopped by
I'll cherish your memory
And hope to see you when I next close my eyes.
