How Can I Compete
I cant match her she is young, and free

How Can I Compete
She walks in like a perfect lie,
Painted lips, a sparkle eye.
Perfume clings like a second skin,
While I’m just tired, worn too thin.
She speaks in sugar, laughs in lace,
While I hold grief behind my face.
She’s fantasy wrapped in retreat,
And I’m real, how can I compete?
My hands are full of kids and crumbs,
Of lullabies and teething gums.
He looks through me, past all I give,
As if I’m ghost, too used to live.
She is the storm he chose to chase,
While I stay tethered in this place.
And every night, that truth repeats—
He chose her.
How can I compete?
