Hostel!

Poem on Smart Russel Hostel in London

By Chloe GilholyPublished 9 years ago 1 min read

Pubes everywhere warns Lee!Read it as pubs and thought it was great. Inside feels nostalgic: looks like a school. Vending machines galore and neon benches.

Triple-bunkbeds, Dull rooms, nothing like Hilton. Red, white and blue coloursFrom the Union Jack hanging high.

Breakfast was simple. Cereals served in paper bowls. Towers of bread with choices. Between cold or burnt toastWith Chocolate spread, jam, and butterServed in upcycled jars.

Of course, you could get your own food, The shops weren't that far away. Some even had booze for breakfast.

They had the basic facilitiesA kitchen for those who want to self-caterTwo toilets, though one was out of orderBut I pity the staff, they must see and hear it all.I found the best time to have a showerWas in the early hours of the morningYou were guaranteed hot water and privacyA lot of them stayed up all night The neighbours were furiousI don't blame them. I couldn't get any sleep either. I didn't see any pubes to my relief!I got to see my friends and party.I guess for £10 a night, it wasn't that bad.
