Horus, God Of The Sky
Romantic Interludes
I dance alone with my ghosts,
they like me best in the dark.
The stars and the moon shimmer most,
once connected, hearts throw out a spark.
*
I've had a long love affair with the moon,
Yet, I still rendezvous with the sun.
I struggle being faithful and true,
dividing my heart with each one.
*
I'd never leave one for the other,
I've never been able to choose.
An admitted faithless, needy lover,
choosing leaves me so much to lose.
*
And neither requires an answer,
they all agree to let it be.
Wild and reckless romancers,
the sun, moon, my ghost here with me.
*
The ancient Egyptian god Horus, son of Isis and Osiris, was a sky deity and many Egyptian texts say that Horus’s right eye was the Sun and his left eye the Moon. The solar eye and lunar eye were sometimes equated with the red and white crown of Egypt, respectively.
