Fire Within

Can you see it?

A flicker

No

It’s there

But barely

Don’t breathe

Hold them tightly and keep your tears

The light will be swallowed soon

And yet they glow

What’s this, a spark?

New life to bring to these forgotten embers?

Breath in the life and out the pain

Hope grows here

It starts out small

These wispy flames

How delicate a dance

Give life

Breath life

Feed

feed

feed

One branch at a time

Now Ablaze

The fire warms and shines it’s light

Don’t hold it back,

It’s path is clear

no more darkness

The embers are not too far gone

Hope for the smallest light
