Stories past and dreams unwound

Emptied vessel to keep you safe

How deep the world wounds

These shameful scars

These shameful scars

Hide from the pain with all your cloaks

Cover up, block it out

Move down the track and smile for them all

These hidden scars

These hidden scars

Pull off the mask

Allow the waves as they come

The scarlet embers glow

These important scars

These important scars

They shape me

They strengthen me

They tell my story

They tether me to others

These strong scars

These strong scars

Crimson, scarlet, faded, or new

These scars are you

These scars are you
