A short poem for my soulmate

She’s the space between our words,

Space that's filled with our laughs,

She’s the kiss we share each night,

She’s a smile to photograph.

She’s a soft and silky blanket,

Shared in bed with food and tea,

She’s a cuddle, she’s a hand squeeze,

She’s my lovely fantasy.

She’s a smile and she’s a look,

She’s a long hug from behind,

She’s the gestures that you make

Just because you are that kind.

She’s the hurt and she’s the pain,

I endure it all for you,

Because love without passion,

Is just love that isn’t true.

She’s my head leaning on yours,

She’s our fingers intertwined,

She’s the third of December,

She’s what I have died to find.

She is safety she is warmth,

And she still somehow feels new,

She is love and she is home,

And that home is me and you.
