Holding

Hurt

By Daniele LindenmuthPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

He held her heart

in his hands

Knowing he had the power

Just as spring rain

nourishes a flower

He didn't

He let the heart wither

and die

Discarded the ashes

without a second thought

And she stood there and cried

while they scattered to the

wind.
