It was an awakening

My eyes blown wide

My heart breaking

But I knew it was coming

Stale relation

Forced action

From hiding

To elation

But that came later

For months I hated her

No words.

I could not trust hers

Time time more time

Once our codependency

A patched friendship now

Allowing me an infancy

To start over

Without her

I added a moat

To my high walls

Something challenging

Yet, not insurmountable

Because I realized

I am worthy of great love after all

And not just fantasizing

Manifesting

I am not looking

I am calling

I do not need

I deserve

About the Creator

Amanda Lyons

Eclectic stream of consciousness and dark surrealism. What photography does for life I do for thought, emotions, and experiences. The genres can range from romance to horror but my favorite is suspense.
