Hesitate and drown

Smoke and the Withered Ground

Hesitate and drown:

The void calls incessantly

Words I don't intend to hear

Crawling; opal spiders in my ears

Weave their pearl webs on my mind

Come

Come my sweet Keres

Will you sweep my mind of this evil

Heartache beyond that of understanding

Blind to celestial bonds snapped

Your visage scared into the diamond mind

I can never forget

Won't someone tell me why I survived

Your flames lick the dry tinder at my stake

Impaling everything that I am

Maybe if I let go it won't hurt

Flowing through me like moonlight through a ghost dance

Synapses cut the cord to my mind

I never fell so hard

This could be the act

Where I hesitate and drown
