If I sit for too long I remember all the bad,
Every detail floods back like a horror movie on fast forward,
Eventually numbness takes over,
I am damaged far beyond repair,
My past doesn’t just haunt me,
It stalks me with passion,
I look at you and know that I don’t deserve you,
You deserve someone whole and beautiful,
Not weak and damaged,
My love for you is the realest thing I have ever felt,
I fear that my love is not enough to balance my damage,
I don’t understand why you love me as strongly as you do,
How in the universe did I get this lucky?
With you I have come to remember what being safe is,
Over half my life I longed to feel someone’s love for me,
Your love is the purest and soul the strongest,
You’re my hero and you may never understand why
