No offense to anyone who has hearing issues - this is intended as a piece of satire commenting on not listening or ignoring what’s said.

You want to know what I think?

No. No, please, I do not.

You do want to know what I think. Or are you just too lazy to listen?

I don’t. Really.

Here is what I know; what I think: You are lazy in your life, in your relationships. People don’t always want to share their feelings or their thoughts. Don’t pretend to be listening because everyone knows when you do that. Don't cup your ear with your hand!

I’m not lazy, okay? Some people talk too much. They repeat things over and over. Maybe my hearing is poor.

I repeat things when people commit to doing something and then don't. Is that the type of repeating you mean?

Maybe… sometimes… and you never want to know what I think! I don't always hear what you have said.

Is that it, then? You don’t hear well? Okay, you’re not lazy in your relationships. You don’t hear well. You think I don't want to know what you think.

That’s not all of it.

All right; I am listening. First, I want to know what you think about hearing aids.
