I’ll leap from coal to coal,

touch to touch

frame to frame

and back again

Where the wind blows slow

and we lay low

against the heat of yesterday

 .

Frame to frame

take to take

make the wind and the rain

regret its trickle upon the roof it beat

 .

But we rise with the embers

No shadow ever stole

playing caress with our feet

a silent retreat

so good with the heat

and we’ll never show

what we went through to be

here with our heat

that December almost stole
