Her Secret Recipe

Her personal instruction manual

She lays curled in the lap of the Universe,

Romping through her dreams in the days of the sunshine,

There’s someone on the sidelines watching her intensely,

And I hear him whisper, “I’m going to make her mine.”

🍸

She’s up for the challenge but you better bring your A game,

Pickiness is her style as she guards her heart tight,

To win her over you’ll bring out the best in you both,

And that my friend, is the recipe to win her delight.

🍸

She’s open to the possibilities of finding her forever,

As she travels her future tomorrows out on the road,

Exploring all that Mother Nature has gifted this world,

And internally discovering all that she does not know.

🍸

Wisdom is her birthmark, locked in tight upon her mind,

Wander by her side without attempting to install her in a cage,

She’ll gift you with her ecstasy of momentous passion,

And welcome you into her future at some late stage.

🍸

When the wind blows she’ll shelter within your arms,

Not out of necessity because she is her own warrior,

She’s aware of your added strength to help her win the fight,

And if she accidentally pains you she couldn’t be sorrier.

🍸

She has a heart full of love, a lung full of screams, an eye full of tears,

And a soul full of dreams,

She’ll share these with you in her moments of intimacy,

Erupting in passion and wantonness in full extremes.

🍸

You’ll soon discover she’s not like the rest,

A unique individual, one of a kind,

Ward her warily, for if you do lose her,

There’s not another like her that you’ll ever find.

🍸

Adore her when the sun does shine,

Shower her in rose petals once she succumbs,

Worship her landscape of satin and lace,

And be rewarded with all her future becomes.

🍸

Cover her in relief on the days she stands in the rain,

Dry her eyes with the tips of your sacred finger,

Smooth her frown from the brow upon her face,

And polish her whispers as your fingers linger.

🍸

Hold back her anxiety with a passionate kiss,

Widen the smile that she holds only for you,

Come hither her expectations of your masculinity,

And deeply believe her love to be true.

🍸

So my friend, take note of these written words,

As she has given you the key to her heart,

A recipe of perfection in the world of her love,

Take heed and she’ll be yours — never to part!

About the Creator

Colleen Millsteed

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.

And if he breaks her heart, I'll break his face. Ask him to watch out! On a brighter note, this was a lovely poem my friend!

  • Sage counsel, beautifully written. And she's way out of my league. My A game isn't even good enough to qualify for a D league.
