My heart in letters and punctuation
The syntax and grammar tell a story
One of a girl with knowledge
A girl with power
She floats through life
Using her words like siren song
A mermaid of hope in a sea of grey
She lures you in with these sentences
Using consonants to punctuate emotion
Her alphabet of feelings spinning a tale
As you fall under her spell
She spells out the words to you
Teaching you her ways letter by letter
But you feel dizzy and unstable
You see the paragraph but not it's parts
You don't know how to read between her lines

Doing it for the troops
The others dropped like flies around me. We fought and struggled to get to this point. I'm the only one left now. The objective is right there. A mere two hundred feet away. The last of my team got a bullet to the head right next to me, but I couldn't do anything. I was able to locate and neutralise the sniper as he shot my friend, so his death was at least not in vain.
