Hello, Treasure ❤️

Yes. You…

Time

Talent

Treasure

These are the three things we can be giving as a way to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Time is priceless. We hoard it without knowing, we waste it without knowing and it’s not renewable. We lash out when we think someone is taking too long, but we don’t always offer any to a person who needs just a piece of it. Thirty minutes at a homeless camp is so valuable that a price can’t be put on it. An hour at a nursing home is worth ten years of no visitors, and yet we think that hour should be spent elsewhere. Be the ministry of presence.

Talent is priceless. There are so many talents that we can use for others. Singing, writing, home visits, phone calls even, artwork, or maybe just the talent of bringing joy to others. Talent is simply using what you’re good at to bless others.

Treasure is priceless. Think of what you consider your treasure. Is it money? Is it a collection? Is it your time? Sometimes our treasure enables us to give random acts of kindness in little ways. Paying for someone’s meal or even giving the wait staff a bigger tip than normal is giving your treasure. Buying a customer’s child a lollipop because they can’t afford it is using your treasure to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

Time. Talent. Treasure. These three seem distinctly different, yet they are adroitly woven together. You use your Time to use your Talent to get your Treasure.

Open a Life account and deposit a little Time and Talent and Teeasure regularly. Then spend it. Go to a nursing home and visit strangers, give the homeless guy at the convenience store whatever you see fit, some cash or maybe a dry clean shirt- doesn’t have to be new or fancy. Someone stole a sweatshirt where I work and left theirs on the hanger. I was excited to give that sweatshirt to a homeless guy who had been soaked in the rain. He was so drunk that he couldn’t stand up, but he was thankful when I put that dry sweatshirt on him. The person who stole the sweatshirt at work could never know what an impact his old sweatshirt would have on someone with nothing.

In the end, you are the Treasure.

Life isn’t that complicated. Keep it simple. That’s where you’ll find your peace.
