HELLO SAVIOR
GOODBYE STRANGER
Afraid to see, too timid to speak
I saw you from across the room.
So tall, so bleak . Man carved from stone.
Statuesque stranger. What have you done to me?
An empty bed, a lonely abode, a bonfire between us
Native crowds carry foreign bullets.
Whiskey in the air, apathy in your head.
A revolver in your hand.
He spoke to you like a brother.
You cocked the barrel, as if friends were foes,
The metal muzzle pressed unto his skin.
Fallen Stoic
Charred hearth
A psyche full of ghosts
Pleasure in place of sleep
Wild impudence amidst the trees
Ever searching peace,
Wicked cadence forgiven.
Survivor in mourning, believer of nothing
Glory for no heir lost
Hellion soldier grow meek,
Avoidant heart scatter free
Gift a soothing smile for his tomorrow
Memories fall from the sky
Stack of books, stories of when souls gone awry.
No questions asked
Anything to numb the ashes of kin
Spirits of death came like the wind.
